Letting recruiters know you’re open to new opportunities can significantly boost your visibility, but it’s not just about flipping a switch. Using LinkedIn’s “Open to Work” feature strategically can make a big difference in how you’re discovered by recruiters and employers.
Here’s how to make the most of it:
Step 1: Turn On the Feature
- Go to your LinkedIn profile and click the “Open to” button beneath your photo.
- Select “Finding a New Job.”
- Add details like job titles, locations, and start date availability.
Step 2: Optimize for the Right Audience

I hope 2025 is off to an amazing start for you and your loved ones. It’s hard to believe I started this journey in September 2024, it’s been such a rewarding experience to combine my passion for video games with helping others level up in their job hunt.
A few updates to kick off the year:
- I’ve been working on my own job hunt and wrapped up the year strong, with three interviews in the final week of 2024. I landed in 2nd place for one of them but i am waiting on the other two to reach back to me.
- My “one video a week” streak continues! The process is dialed in, and I’ve got endless ideas to share with you, I am saving up to build my first PC, so the first piece is the motherboard. If you have any recommendations send me a message on LinkedIn and we can geek out.
