Feeling like your job search is a high-stakes survival game?
In this video, I draw parallels between Netflix's Squid Game and the chaotic job market to help you master your career quest.
From timing your applications like Red Light, Green Light to perfecting your resume with Honeycomb precision, this video is packed with actionable tips to keep you in the game.
Learn how to build a winning network (Tug-of-War), balance hard and soft skills (Marbles), and take smart risks (Glass Bridge) to land your dream role.

Tailor Your Resume for Every Job Application
Submitting the same resume to every job might save time, but it reduces your chances of standing out. Recruiters are looking for candidates who align closely with their specific job requirements. Tailoring your resume shows you’re serious and attentive to detail—like customizing your loadout for a specific quest.
Here’s how to tailor your resume effectively:
Step 1: Study the Job Description
Carefully read through the posting and identify:
- Key Skills: Highlighted in the requirements (e.g., “project management,” “Python programming”).
- Action Verbs: Reflect the tone and expectations (e.g., “lead,” “analyze,” “design”).
- Company Culture Cues: Phrases like “collaborative,” “fast-paced,” or “innovative.”
Step 2: Match Your Skills and Experience
- Reorder Bullet Points: Place the most relevant accomplishments at the top of each section.
- Use the Same Keywords: If the job description mentions “team leadership,” use that exact phrase instead of synonyms like “team management.”
- Showcase Relevant Projects: Include experiences that align directly with the job duties.
Step 3: Quantify Your Achievements
Numbers catch the eye and add credibility. For example:
- Original: “Managed a team to complete projects on time.”
- Tailored: “Led a team of 5 to deliver 3 software projects within deadlines, achieving a 20% increase in efficiency.”
Step 4: Customize the Summary Section
Your summary should reflect the specific role you’re applying for.
- Generic: “Experienced software developer seeking new opportunities.”
- Tailored: “Software developer with 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, skilled in JavaScript and React, eager to contribute to innovative tech solutions at [Company Name].”
Step 5: Double-Check for ATS Compatibility
Many companies use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to scan resumes.
- Use standard section headings like “Experience”, “Skills”, and “Education.”
- Avoid excessive formatting (e.g., images, fancy fonts).
- Include the exact skills and certifications mentioned in the job description.
đź“Š Pro Tips for Tailoring Your Resume
- Keep a Master Resume: Store all your experience and achievements in one document to easily copy and paste relevant sections.
- Don’t Overload: Focus on 2-3 key job requirements for tailoring instead of rewriting everything.
- Proofread: Ensure every customization aligns with the new role and contains no errors.
Tailoring your resume for each job is a power move that can set you apart from other applicants.
It demonstrates effort, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in the role.

What’s new with Dellyn Digital📝🎮?
I hope you’ve had a great week so far.
It’s hard to believe we’re already in the third week of 2025, and yet the world’s already thrown us some curveballs.
My heart goes out to everyone affected by the fires in LA, you’re in my thoughts with many job seekers on the hunt.
On a brighter note, I recently announced that I’ve started doing volunteer work with Games For Love. Volunteering has always been something I wanted to explore, but finding an opportunity that aligned with my love for gaming and my career skills wasn’t easy. I’m so grateful for the connections I’ve made on LinkedIn because they led me to this amazing organization.
On the job hunt front, I’ve been sticking to my process since that Halloween gut-punch layoff. I don’t want to jinx anything, but let’s just say the Open to Work banner might be coming down sooner rather than later. I’m living proof that there’s no silver bullet in the job hunt, just a solid foundation and proven strategies that get results.
And, on a completely unrelated but fun note, are you into anime?
If so, send me a DM on LinkedIn. I’d love to geek out with some anime fans!
